First timer here. Never owned a PC, but i'm tired of consoles. I've been looking into building a pc for a while now. I plan on playing Skyrim (heavily modded) almost exclusively, possibly other games, and little to no program unrelated to gaming. Any advice would be much appreciated.

here's what i'm looking at:
Intel i5 4690k
cooler master hyper 212 evo cpu cooler
ASRock h97 Anniversary ATX LGA1150 (upgrading later on)
Kingston SSD 120 gb
Western Digital caviar blue 1tb
Asus GeForce GTX 960 4gb Video Card
Corsair 200r ATX Mid tower
EVGA SuperNova NEX 650w 80+ gold psu
windows 8.1

Solution
for the GPU, 4Gb 960 is not worth the extra money. You either get 2GB 960 or 4GB 970.
If you plan to upgrade your mobo later on, you should probably get the LGA1151 mobo and skylake CPU.
And I'm not seeing RAM options.

If you are a very heavy modder, then consider the R9 390 with more vRAM (though I'm not sure this is within your budget):

Oversized PSU for a second 390 (which would be a real performer at 1440p someday.....for a heavy modder).

Just a reminder that RAM compatibility depends on your mobo and CPU combo. Put all your items on pcpartpicker before buying just to be sure that everything is compatible with each other
