Hi I need some help, i've never overclocked before. my system is
mobo:msi 760gm-p23(FX)
gpu: 7770 1gb ddr5 ghz edition (MSI)
cpu:fx-6100 clocked at 3.3

now my question is what should i overclock my gpu to my current settings with msi afterburner are
core voltage: minimum (doesnt show anything)

power limit: halfway through it's at +0

core clock: 1095 mhz

memory:1245 mhz

fan: auto

now my question is, what should i overclock to, i messed around with it and overclocked to i believe 1300 and when i went to game the screen went black and bsod'd , so what should i overclock to? also is it safe to turn my fan auto off and send the speed all the way up to max? thanks guys

It's a bit hard to say. Try increase your settings slowly and keeping your voltages at about 1.3 max with your system. Also what fan do you have? stock or an aftermarket cooler? Temperatures are important when overclocking.

i'm on the stock cooler.

thanks i plan on picking one of these up and sorry if i didnt make it clear but i'm just overclocking my graphics card, also is it safe to have my graphics card set at 100% speed all thee time?

There is no "100%' speed unless you mean the fan speed on your gpu? You overclock till your graphics card go any higher or at a "safe" speed where other people on forums have found stable.

Hello computerfreak,I just watched you trying to learn to overclock from symsus and he's not telling you how to overclock so I'll tell you in detailed on how to overclock.

Requirements to overclock:-
1. Msi Afterburner
2.Unigine Heaven benchmark
3.Hw monitor

Basically you don't mess with the voltages unless you wanna lower your gpu's life by alot

Procedure:-
Increase your core clock by 10 mhz
run unigine benchmark
make sure it doesn't goes over 80* C
Rinse and repeat until you start seeing artifacts or the temperature goes over 80* C.
As simple as that,no hassle,P.S-The more you overclock, the lesser your card's lifetime goes.

P.S-I overclocked my 5850 by 350 in base clock and around 200 in memory clock while maintaing a stable 80*C temp but each card is different so you gotta test it out yourself.

thanks alot man, but is it safe to have my gpu fan at 100% all the time. like it's spinning as fast as it can. If not what should it be at? sound is of course not an issue.
