Hi,

I am overclocking an A10-5800k to 4.6Ghz at 1.5V using the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo. In BIOS (I do not yet have windows installed), it is reading a temp of 40C (idle). I was just wondering what the temps will be like when I'm gaming.

Thanks!

PS- Does anyone know how to disable the Boost Clock on a BIOSTAR A85X?
PSS- Can I overclock the iGPU on a BIOSTAR A85X (I can't seem to find it in BIOS)

I said that I don't yet have windows installed. I am just looking for a prediction. As soon as I have windows I will run it, but for now I am just wondering.

What is the point of overclocking without OS lol? As soon as you hit logon screen you will probably bsod...

1.5v is too high also... Don't go above 1.475v.

you wont hit 4.6 ghz... safely that is... the 212 isnt effective enough. i have my a-10 at 4.4 with a v6 gt and its barely cool after 3 hours of prime 95.
but if your set on getting it to 4.6 i would get water cooling setup for about 80$ on newegg or tigerdirect... and 1.475 would be a good starting point to try for 4.6ghz

I know this is an older post but I wanted to say I have the 5800k with a HD 7870 and the 5800k is OC'd to 4.5Ghz. I also have the Hyper 212 as well. When I am playing League of Legends the highest my temp goes up to is 48 celsius and when playing a game like World of Warcraft or another MMO 53 celcius is the highest I've seen. So far it's been a good processor and I really havent had problems running any game I throw at it. (both games mentioned above are at ultra settings)
