I recently got a new graphics card and I am loving the increse in performance, but i am now realizing that my cpu is bottle necking my system. the current cpu i have is basically the most powerful my poorly built mo-bo can support so it would not be worth it to buy a new one altogether. Thus my only option is to overclock. I have never overclocked before and have no idea how. I have all my system information avalible but i would need someone to walk me through for my system specifically as i have looked up guides before but none i can relate to my own computer. Basically i am asking someone who knows how to overclock tell me what to do and i will give you all the information he/she needs. Hope im not being too blunt, thanks in advance.

My cooling/heatsink is a store-bought cooler-master for AM3

Over clocking with OEM motherboards is very difficult. For someone who has never overclocked it would be near impossible probably. Save some money and buy yourself even a cheap AM3+ motherboard. But what GPU did you buy? It would take a quite good one to bottleneck your CPU significantly.

This post is no longer relevant as now when i play crysis 3 on high, it runs at a smooth 70 fps. im not sure what changed, i never tweaked any settings, but now it doesnt run slowly. Thanks for the help though.
