I just built my first pc and it powers on but does not beep or show up on display. I've already unplugged, and plugged everything back in, cleared the CMOS, reseated the GPU and RAM. It still won;t boot no matter what. Any ideas?
My specs are:
CPU: Core i5-7500 LGA 1151
MOBO: MSI B250M Gaming Pro
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 3Gb
RAM: Pacific Sun 8Gb Kit (4Gbx2) PC4-19200 )24000MHz) DDR4
POWER SUPPLY: Thermaltake Smart Series 650W
HARD DRIVE: Western Digital Internal Hard Drive 1TB 7200 RPM Tr/min 64 MB/Mo cache
CASE: Corsair Carbide Series Spec-02

Solution
Would need to know what display monitor you are using, what method you are connecting it with, etc. It stays on but you just cant see anything? Sounds like a display thing. Try turning it on with just the onboard graphic connected. To be sure, remove GPU. Connect directly from pc motherboard (onboard) to display. Try a different cable. Using displayport, try hdmi, vga, etc. Make sure you are on right input. Make sure it is set to auto resolution on the display or similar. Try different monitor. If you get to bios, check that you have external graphic card enabled before using the nvidia. It should automatically detect it, but to be safe try removing GPU and getting everything setup with just onboard. I would say its either the monitor...

I would say its either the monitor, the method of connection, or the motherboard not outputting from the nvidia. Gotta narrow down the issue. Does display work on other pcs?

Solution
I tried using the different cables and a TV and a monitor, and it finally worked when I used an HDMI cable. It turned out that it was the monitor and the method of connection. Thank you for the advice.:)

No problem. Only reason I had known is from being in that same position. My first PC was a stressful time when it came to turning on for the first time, like should I power it on, is everything right... i dont know..... When I did, it powered on for a second, and powered off. Bios wasnt updated for the CPU I had and to update needed an older CPU. Fun times. Take care. enjoy!
