Hi this is my first time building a PC and I'm quite new to this. I've come up with a build that I think will suit my needs.

The Build:
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690 3.5GHz Quad-Core
MOBO: ASUS B5 PRO-GAMER
Video: ASUS Radeon R9 270X DirectCU II TOP 2GB
Memory: Corsair Vengeance CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9R 8GB
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO Series 120GB SSD
Western Digital WD Black WD7500BPKX 750GB
Power: XFX XTR Series 550W 80 PLUS GOLD
Case: Corsair Carbide 200R Compact ATX Case
Monitor: Samsung S22D300H 21.5in Widescreen LED Monitor

So my main questions are:
1. Is all this going to work fine
2. Am I over doing it with certain components since I am not a hardcore gamer?

Hi there.

The build looks solid, but the WD Black you've chosen is 2.5 inch, which is the size for laptops. Since you're building a desktop computer it'll be better to go with 3.5 inch Black drive with 64MB cache, because it will give you better loading times in gaming.

Cheers! :)
