First time RAID set up...

Hello everyone,

I had a quick question about RAID set ups and what not. First, Iv never had more than one HDD in a build, so I am inexperienced in this category. Im building a new build in the next week or two and I plan on using a 128GB SSD for my OS and games and 2 1.5GB HDD for storage, Ill be using a z68 mobo. I guess im wondering what to expect with the three drives and how I should configure them. The computer will be a gaming computer, but it will have other basic uses as well but gaming performance will be key.

if you are planning to install games on SSD and using HDD's for data like picture,movies ... then i suggest you don't waste your money on Black caviar! they are expensive and low capacity! you don't have to waste your money on somthing that you want to wach pictures or movie or listening music!

I recommend you to buy WD green caviar, which is silent, good performance for your usage and cheap!

take a look at this! if i were you i bought 2X 3tb green caviar! 2times larger capacity and only 20$ more expensive!!!

and its better to not set your HDD's atraid 0 mode, because if something goes wrong you will lost all of your data!!!

and about your SSD!

crucial m4 is good but a little bit old!

there is new SSD (corsair performance pro 128gb) with the same controller better components and 2x higher write speed!
