First time video card install help

xfx radeon r9 280x clip won't close? The clip on the motherboard the video card goes into, the clip thingy won't snap shut completely. No wires across the slot the card goes into, I screwed the card into place, and hooked up the PCI-E cords, the clip didn't seem to snap into place to firmly hold the card. I tried nudging the card it doesn't move out of its slot. I just want to be sure the card is ok before I turn on the computer, is it ok that it wiggled a little? But did not come out of its slot?

It should close, i've owned 3 of these cards and they always clipped into the motherboard 'clip' , does the clip move as it should without a card in ?

Are you sure you've inserrted the card correctly and there's no wires from fans sitting across the PCI-E slot?

Also I confirmed my power supply is 750 watt, I looked around and saw people using, 550-650 so I should be good on power, i hope
