Hi guys, I'm really needing some help at the moment!
I want to water cool my rig but i know there's a lot of compatibility problems that i could run into such as the dimensions of the tubing etc..
So id like your help in making a list of parts that will be compatible for my rig.

I have a full atx case so size isnt a problem. Here's the specs for the rest of my rig:
ASUS V formula Z mobo
AMD FX 8350
2x EVGA SC GTX 970's

I would like to have clear tubing with red or orange coolant, a 240x120mm rad and a 120x120mm rad. with a nice cylinder reservoir. I'm not really bothered about water cooling the north bridge on the mobo, just cpu and gpu's. I would like to keep the price as low as possible though guys, although i understand that it will still be quite pricey 😛

I hope these all the details you guys will need to help me out, I would appreciate any input as this is my first time using water cooling!

Solution
If I'm not mistaken, the Northbridge is incorporated on the CPU. What I do now is that raising NB-speed by 200 Mhz increases CPU temp by 5 celsius under load, for me.

I would buy a custom loop with 240 rad and then buy the reservoir and 120 rad separately (if I had the money).

Reservoir-examples.
For tubing, I would go with the one that is around 1 centimetre in diameter (if all your units use that, make sure all your equipment uses same dimension tubing IMPORTANT)

Try also not to mix aluminium with copper. Because of galvanic corrosion.
Theres supposed to be some liquid that nullifies that but I don't know how good it is.

I shall do, i was only asking for help because im stressing due to the vast amount of options out there haha! I appreciate all the advice and tips that people can give. you are right though, i should research it myself and gain knowledge before i go any further! :)

I was hoping to do it for about $600 if i can find the right parts at the right prices, any particular brands you can recommend?

or you could start with something like the swiftech h220x or h240x

high quality components at a great price

and it can be expanded once you get a bit of knowledge

ive done some research and as you suggested im going to get the h240x and upgrade at a later date :)) thank you!

you are welcome

cant get it here in the uk yet unfortunately

but i started with a swiftech h320 and have now expanded it to a full loop

and bryan from swiftech goes on overclock.net forums he is there constantly if you have any issues--even at weekends--

hes outstanding in his customer support

Solution

i shall order one from the USA, i dont waiting a few weeks to get it

i will be sure to get in touch with him if i have any problems :)

if in europe highflow.nl may still have some

care to elaborate why the pumps not enough for a full loop with good flow?

the mcp50 has a higher head than the d5

even if the pump isnt powerful enough, i will keep the cpu block and get a new pump, res and rads anway :) but i wouldnt be expanding the system for at least two years so ill still get some good use out of the H220-X

Not to be mean the cards are nice the rest of the rig is subpar why waste $600 to liquid cool sub par componets?

I have been down this road and its a lonely depressing expensive one.

if you keep reading the comments you will have seen that ive opted for a closed loop system, the H220-X instead of custom cooling the whole thing.

and if the CPU and mobo are only sub par, what would you recommend? because i dont think there are any better motherboards than the formula Z for AMD chipsets
and the 8350 suits me just fine

I will do, thanks :)

For your coolant, I also recommend looking at mayhem's lineup. They make great coolants and coolant mixes.
