Fitting graphics card

hi ;-)
i have a dell dimension 5000
it has pci e connection
pent 4 with ht at 2,8
504 ram
os: xp sp3
bios a o7
was tring to find a graphics card
had problems with a nv 7600 gt
and anouther card i cant remember 8400 gs i think
can any one recomend a good card that my system will run
have a standard ctr monitor
any sugestions???
