Test it with either Seagate Seatools for Windows or WD Data LifeGuard Diagnostic for Windows, depending on the make of the drive:

You can ignore the drive illustrated on the WD page if yours is different - - it doesn't matter which WD model you have.
SeaTools can test any make of drive, but the WD software will only test WD drives (or there has to be at least one WD drive on the system if you want to test other brands with it).
