How to fix error:IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL on start up in windows 8.1

I would do THIS before anything:

1) Update your BIOS if it's not the newest.

2) CPU and Memory to DEFAULT settings (on Intel boards you click "XMP"; I think it's "AMP" for AMD boards) then SAVE

3) run MEMTEST for at least one full pass www.memtest.org

*Burn DVD with imgburn (or use the USB method). May need to change BOOT ORDER in the BIOS so DVD/USB comes before the Windows drive.
