Fixed now but WHAT HAPENED??

SO yesterday my pc was so slow, i started to notice when playing GTA V (trying to get that money for the dlc) i found it weird i never had so much stutter. All day i reinstalled GTA V and tried to see what it was. many hours passed and at the end of the day i noticed in the Ccleaner i only had 4gb of ram (My setup is i5-4690k;GTX 970 G1;DDR3 HYPERX 2x4; Z97P-D3 GIGA; XFX TS 550) so i did some memory tests and nothing it looked like channel A was not responding. I went to sleep so i wouldn't worry to much. Today i expected everything. Memory slot of MB broken or broken ram. So to test the ram slots i just switched the ram sticks.I turned it on and.... it was all okay.


So no urgency there but..what happened? could it be dust?

TL: DR: i have 8gb but pc said 4gb then i switched ram sticks and it worked.

Switched the RAM stick? Do you mean you switched their slots, or that you switched to other sticks entirely?

Best guess one of the sticks was barely making contact and slowly worked it's way out of the socket to the point it wasn't reading when you reseated them I'd fixed the issue

Bad contact, only bad contact was the cause.
You unplug and plug it back...the contact problem was repaired.

id agree with what people were saying unless you moved your case recently and potentially something got knocked loose (although that would still be a contact problem so....)
