Fixing a dodgy uninstall (ASUS AI Suite 3)

Hello all!

After recently building my first PC (yay!), I've been trying to tune the system. I had been using the ASUS AI Suite 3 that came with my motherboard to control fans etc., but found that the software consistently ran the fans more quickly than the profile I had created said it should at the current temperature - so decided to uninstall the software and try setting it up in my BIOS instead.

While uninstalling, I got a popup telling me that there was a problem with one of the files (unfortunately I can't remember the exact wording), but needless to say it was enough to completely freeze the uninstall, which did nothing for a few hours. In the end, the only recourse I had was to restart the computer (I really didn't want to have to do this!).

I then tried to re-instigate the uninstall, but was told that I had to finish installation first. As I thought might happen, the dodgy uninstall was causing issues.

I used a programme called IObit uninstaller to try and do a full registry uninstall, and although it said it was successful (and AI Suite 3 no longer appears in my program list), there are still some registry files left over that I aren't removed by CCleaner, and I can't manually delete - a popup says that the 'file or folder is open in another location'. All other registry files have been successfully deleted, except those that seem to be related to updating AI Suite 3.

Any advice on how best to remove the remaining files would be appreciated. Even knowing they're there annoys me (OCD I know) - and I'm still fairly new to more in-depth PC use.

Thanks in advance.
