Trying to fix a friend's old computer, on plugging it in the computer starts properly and stays up, but no video goes to a verified to work monitor. After about 15 seconds there are 2 beeps and nothing more happens.
I tried looking up the motherboard for some sort of manual, but had no luck. All I found on the motherboard itself was "QSVN71801092 PBA D37261-901".
I figured out two short beeps generally means a problem with the RAM, and there are 4 lights next to each other near the RAM which were either off or flashing orange or red. I tried going only two RAM sticks at a time (there are 8 sticks, all DDR2), but no combination ended up working to bring video to the monitor. On the front of the case is also a warning symbol with a light next to it, and after the two beeps the light went from off to orange.
I hope someone can help me out here, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
