Flash Card in a Cannon camera

Hi all,

I got a new DSLR Cannon. I placed in an 8GB flash card, but I am getting an indication "no card" on display.

What does this mean?

It's true that in some cases when you are using the same card with the camera and pc card reader may cause the card to failed. Another thing is that when you take photos don't fill up your card all the way because an overwritten card can also cause it to failed when trying to export photos.
