There is some pages that say you could install Debian -- https://wiki.debian.org/InstallingDebianOn/Seagate/PersonalCloudIt works 90% but I can't seem to get the drive to show up as a folder on Windows shares. Not sure if it'sa problem with the software or the router
That aside I have other programs on it including Plex that will begin to stop working as software is updated.
Id just rather flash it. Surely the chip can't be proprietary? It would be a certain generic type that can be wiped and flashed?
Does it work as-is?I have a Seagate personal cloud that they stopped supporting in 2021.
I'm wondering if there is a way to flash it with some open source software for a NAS?
