flash drive crashes down automatically

I have a transcend usb flash drive which I bought some years back, the problem is whenever I connect it to my PC it starts for some time(3-5 secs) then closes down automatically then again starts and again closes down. It occurs till I dissconect it. I really don't know what to do. Please help me

It sounds like the flash drive might have become faulty, but in order for you to determine that, you should try it with a different computer/device as well, to see if the issue still persists. In case it shows up without a hitch, you should try reformatting it, to see if that fixes things up. Another option would be to update/reinstall your computer's Universal Serial Bus (USB) controller's driver, to see if the problem still persists after that.
