flash drive issues

using a 2 gb flash drive as external ram and every time i try to power up my computer it attempts to boot my OS from the flash instead of the hdd is there a simple fix to this? Im pretty sure all i need to do is change the boot order parameters but not quite sure

Just change the boot order from the BIOS, it'll fix up the issue. Make the primary HDD as the first device for boot, the USB as second (that, if primary HDD is not detected) and so-on.
