Flash R9 290 Windforce to R9 290x Windforce, help?

Good evening folks, I'm using a R9 290 (non x) Windforce 3x, so no reference design, overclocked by default and uses 3 fans with 2560 cores.

I'm wondering if i could flash this to the 290x version? And do i need the gigabyte version of the r9 290x or can i use any bios?

And maybe turn your $600 video card into a brick? I hope you do realize if it does brick it, it wont be covered under warranty. I wouldnt take that chance for a minimal gain in performance. But it is your card.

Yes, i understood that the thread i linked didn't contain the correct bios for my card, but since my GPU can store 2 bios via a switch on the GPU itself, i thought that i could take advantage of that feature if there are any compatible bioses with this card specifically.

And warranty doesn't cover overclocking anyway, or does it?

If you have a dual bios go ahead and try it ! Basic overclocking should be covered however if you modify the card or increase the voltage too much you might not be covered if they find out.

Yeah, so far MSI afterburner is only offering me an offset of 100mV, so far i'm stable at 1200/1300 with no articats at an offset of 69mV. Hitting 76c in battlefield 4.

I love this card
