It's been a couple weeks now since my SanDisk 32 GB flash drive succumbed to being write protected. I've tried liyerally everything, be it the regedit solution, formatting it through windows explorer, the command prompt solution, and the HP disk formatting utility.

None of it works and it'd be much appreciated if someone can help me out here.

Hey Pridagio. It seems like you've tried all sensible options (Diskpart method, manufacturer's formatting tool, edit the registry). The only other thing I can think of, is if there's a small locking switch on the flash drive itself, but I really doubt that this is the case with your USB flash drive. You could still try the pen drive with another computer and/or device to see if the same thing happens, but it sounds like it might have become faulty. 🙁

edit: sorry, the small switch option was suggested while I was typing

There isn't a tiny switch on my flashdrive but when I tried doing a virus scan (Nothing fancy, just Windows Defenser) it turns out there were a LOT more files (most of which I can't even view) then what I originally put on my flashdrive. The scan displayed that nothing was found but I still can't scrounge up an explanation for that ridiculous amount of files.
