Hello Fellow Tom’sHardware users, today I wanted to fix my rx 570 I bought from a guy that used it for mining and used a custom bios and decided to flash stock bios from tech power up but before I flashed it i looked up every single detail of the card and the bios I wanted to flash . It was the exact same thing Samsung and micron memory (rx 570 nitro + 8gb) after flashing I see that the display is black and the card is spinning so I thought ,ok let me change the bios switch and that didn’t work either. Tried multiple tips and tricks and I put my IGPU first In bios then the pc still wouldn’t boot then I disconnected the 8 pin power connector from the gpu and it would boot without recognizing the gpu, then I found out about the 1+8 pins trick and then used that and it boots with the 8pin power connector now with the vga port connected to the IGPU . It now device manager sees the card as an rx 570 but whenever I try to do amdvbflash -i it sais fail I even managed to install the driver without problems .if I try to flash it via amdvbflash -f -p 0 olxbios.rom (that’s my backup bios’s name) I would get an error “Failed to read ROM error:0FL01” how do I fix this ? Thanks in advance.

Mining destroys GPUs even when they are properly cooled. I mined with 2x280X and they both died after a couple of months, artifacts etc. Never buy used mining cards, they are useless even for free.

You bricked the card. The yellow mark means the GPU is defective and not working. The AMD flash tool need the GPU to be detected and installed properly without the yellow mark.
Do Adrenalin sees your GPU? Can you get to OverDrive and see power consumption?
Try loading a game and check power consumption.

adrenalin does not see my gpu therefore I can’t check but hwinfo does recognize the gpu and shows some info about it

I can see the gpu in device manager with the power connector
Yeah, that makes sense. I think in that old post of mine I had to leave the power connector unplugged because otherwise the PC would always try to use the video card rather than the iGPU for a display, which obviously wouldn't work because the graphics card was bricked.

Anyway, try uninstalling the device + drivers from device manager as I described in that post, and then try flashing again.

Like this?

Just noticed, I think you want to use amdvbflashWin.exe, not amdvbflash.exe, if you're doing this from within Windows.

Alternatively, you could try making a bootable USB stick and copying all the ATIFlash files onto it. Boot from the USB, which should give you a DOS command line interface and try running the commands from there.

Both of these are sort of Hail Mary's though...

Also did that and when running from dos it always says this program can’t be run in dos mode (version 2.84 and up) older versions like 4.11 and 4.17 work but are too old to detect my gpu. ver4.11~2012 / ver4.17~2013 while the rx 570 nitro + 8G is from 2017

Actually I just tried running atiflash ver2.67 and it gives adapter not found ,also when trying to run the executable from atiflash ver 2.67 it said I need a discreet ati/amd gpu . Well trying to do amdvbflashwin -i or amdvbflashwin -ai work but it still gives failed to read rom error.
