Flashing 390X bios into a 290X

I only recently heard this was possible and i was wondering if anyone here has ever tried it and what are the advantages to doing so. My model is a Gigabyte 290X OC Windforce

I was following this tutorial here but had some questions

Since my model isn't referenced in any of the MODs should i used the NO MOD bios?

If someone goes wrong i've heard i can always switch to another bios since these models have 2 of them. In case that does happen, how would i swap between bios?

Ok, ive only really done this on nvidia cards.

Is there much performance benefit to doing this on the 290x over just normal overclocking?

You can get up to a 5 fps increase in performance if you're lucky. You can't really push this model too far when it comes to overclocking but this might help me out a bit while i wait for the 490.
