Flashing BIOS before upgrading from 6th gen to 7th gen

Since I am planning to flash my bios from 6th generation to 7th generation, can I still use my 6th generation processor with the new bios flash without problems?
Specifics:
From a core i5-6500 to a core i7-7700k. I have an AsRock Super Alloy H110M-ITX/ac motherboard(http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H110M-ITXac/).

Yes, of course. Adding compatibility for a new processor won't take away support from older ones.

Yes, the new BIOS just updates the list of compatible CPU. Probably some other updates and patches.
