Flashing Bios with usb

I am attempting to fix my Acer Travelmate # 7520 Black Screen of death issue by flashing the systems bios back on to the laptop.

So far I have done these steps
(1)ready the usb flash memory drive to work as bootable flash drive
(2)downloaded my bios from Acer website (only one bios available for my Laptop model so there is no possibility of an error in bios download)
so the next step was supposed to copy the dos files on to the flash drive and rename file
Here is the issue Instead of 2 folders inside the zipped file one windows and one dos i see these 3 files (A) W Flash MFC Application exe.
labeled as POM117 (B)flash.sys
(C)ABVXD.VXD FILE
NOW WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW mY lOGIC TELLS ME TO RUN THE EXE. AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS LIKE IT SAYS BUT MY gUT TELLS ME TO MAKE SURE SINCE I REALLY DONT WANT TO AFFECT PUT MY DESKTOP AT RISK TO RESCUE MY LAPTOP FROM ITS WHAT APPEARS deATH

Usually the .exe is the flash utility. In this case the .vxd is most likely the BIOS file. The .sys file is probably a configuration file for the flash utility.

If I were to do it, I'd boot from the usb flash drive, run the .exe and follow the instructions on the screen.

Indead I see now i left that step out of my Question That was the step i took before posting this asking for help but when i pressed the Function key along with ESC plus Power with usbdrive placed in slot NOTHING SINCE THE LAPTOP APPEARENTLY HAS NO BIOS ON IT
COMON ISSUE FOR aCER MODELS NOW YOU THINK IF I GO WITH A DIFRENT OS LIKE WINDOWS 7 INSTEAD OF ITS STOCK WINDOWS VISTA IT WOULD WORK OR KILL MY ACER FOR GOOD

I don't think I fully understand what you are asking. Are you asking if you should run the .exe on your desktop? In that case: No, don't even consider it. That will pretty much brick your motherboard.

You should copy the .exe, .sys and .vxd to the USB flash drive. Plug the flash drive into the notebook, then turn it on. Open the boot menu with whatever key Acer has reserved for that and select the flash drive.

Definetly wont run that exe. on my desktop

now i tried what you said but i still am stuck with that black screen issue if anything else comes to mind i really would appreciate your Input on the matter

When does this black screen occur? I can't help without any form of information, besides "a black screen".

I don't really have the time to watch a 7 mins video. Does the black screen just occur out of nowhere? During startup?

If it's a known issue and the laptop is still eligible for warranty, personally I would get the data I need off of it and send it in.
