Hey

Wasent sure where to post this so here it is.

So recently ive been having an odd issue where on certain pages/during videos and even my desktop i would see what looks like dead pixels. With the difference that these dead pixels seem to be flashing and have a few other unusual properties:

1. Even on a copy of the original image the flashing dead pixels will be in the same spot i would post a screenshot but that wont work.

2. Any alteration to the screen makes them go away such as moving the mouse over the spot or zooming in.

Now someone said it might be my drivers so i went to the drivers page of nvidea geoforce and did that auto detect GPU thing which just keeps telling me to install java even tho i already have the most recent version. Now is this actually a driver issue? And if so how do i fix it?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

Solution
At least try Task Manager.

And stopping/disabling background software. Could be the problem source.

Reinstalling Windows 10 may be a bit drastic and possibly unnecessary as the nature of the problem (to me at least) remains an unknown.

No disagreement that a re-install may fix the problem. However, the next Windows upgrade or some other circumstances may simply bring the problem back and your reinstall work is all for naught.

Experiment with darker colors - prove or disprove your feeling.

Any way to try your monitor on another computer? See if the "dead" pixels still occur....

Check Task Manager and stop any unnecessary apps, processes, or services. See if the flashing stops.

Then add back everything you stopped but only one at a time. Watch if the flashing returns with one particular start.

And be very sure that the drivers are directly from Nvideo's website. Would not trust some "auto-detect" function....

Don't have another monitor to try it out on atm. Also considering doing a plain clean re-install of windows 10 to un-clutter my computer. Also i have the feeling it happens on darker colors usually.

Side note so i don't have to open an entirely new topic for this:

I have 8GB hyper x fury ram of 1060 right now if i add another of 2133 will that give a problem? And does it matter what order you put them in if the second one is faster?
