you only flash bios for a reason

1) sometimes you can not unflash or go backwards with bios, so only flash if need it

2) some bios that are new may not help you - in fact they may hurt you

reasearch your cpu and ther best bios

3) most bios updates are too solve issues or too add new processors

if you have an old processor you may fine the new bios retarts oc-ing or other issues and sometimes your stuck with it

4) if you flash wrong you fried your mobo if you chip is solder on - high mobos have gotten away from removal chips

interpution of flashing is very bad, turn off all oc when you flash too

Bottom line is should research your bios options and cpu choice, never flash unless you need too. My take

different mobos have different ways, i flash with usb though bios

Find your mobo on the mobo vendor's web site. Under downloads/bios, you should find documentation.
Use cpu-z to find our what your current bios level is.
DO NOT flash your bios unless you have a problem that the update solves.

"fuggetaboudit ... " ........lol

What you actually should do is find a site that has official support from your motherboard manufacturer, for example tweaktown has A1 gigabyte support. From there you will learn about the quirks of flashing the bios for your board. You need to remember if it goes wrong there aren't any guaranteed ways of recovering your board.
