How much would it cost to replace a 40 inch Hitachi flat screen I have a broken screen

How old is the TV itself? What's the exact model? What is the part number of the display itself?
I would hate to say it, but probably a brand new 40incher will be cheaper that parts (if you can find) and labor to repair yours.
