Flickering red pixels?

I was wondering if someone could help me out as I've been frustrated trying to fix this issue. There are flickering red dots which seem to show up on gray areas or when I play a video/game...I'm using a DVI-D to HDMI hooked up from my 560ti. When I switch to my onboard Intel graphics using a VGA cable everything is fine (except some things like icons stretch slightly off screen) I have the latest nVidia drivers installed. The display also goes to sleep randomly for a second every now and then. I'm wondering whether I need a new video card/cable/power supply and could really use someones advice right now..thanks

My setup:

Intel i5 3570 @ stock speed
Gigabyte H61M-S2P
8GB Ram
560 ti
Delco 650 Watt PSU

Monitor: LG 22EA53V

psu sounds rubbish

sounds like video card, but could be a long/faulty cable or even dead pixels - to confirm use the onboard video to check if its the screen/cable

I ran furmark...17661 frames, 19 FPS min, 90°C max..

Yeah I know cause I live in the UAE there isn't many options when it comes to PC parts I brought some of my parts from the US though

It isn't the monitor I already used a VGA cable with my onboard video but I can't test the DVI to HDMI cable I'm using for the 560ti because my motherboard has neither ports

go to windows update see what it picks up.

I didn't see anything that would relate to my problem in Windows update....

either the card is faulty or its not doesnt involve clock speeds or updates

it is what it is, no more no less

the idea of windows update is to get firmware for the opsys............. like netframework or anything else..........

under clocking the card may help. if it does it is surely the card. trying nothing/suggesting nothing......... then i guess his trip here was useless.

Replacing the cable solved my problem. The cable did seem a little long...thanks for the help
