Recently built this pc but with 1 8gb memory stick instead of the 2 I have now. Last week the PC was running 8.1 successfully (was able to play games without any trouble). After installing the new ram (2x4gb), PC has had nothing but issues. Was able to upgrade from 8.1 to 10 thinking this might fix the issue. However, I keep experiencing a flickering screen at login and after login, computer will freeze at login and then just hang. PC also will sometimes allow me anywhere from 10seconds to 10 minutes of time on the desktop before freezing and hanging or flickering black screen and then solid black screen while still running. Sometimes it will run in safe mode, other times it will just hang at the MSI opening screen. Other points the screen will flicker and then come back (only to freeze later). I have cleaned out the drivers and reinstalled multiple times. Ran PC repair but still no use. Wondering if it may be a hardware issue. Was hoping to test the graphics driver by downloading Heaven Benchmark but PC is unable to download it entirely before crashing. Have also tried leaving it unplugged for 24 hours.
I have noticed that Antimalware executable in Task Manager eats up significant CPU and Memory (sometimes 80%+), which is when it crashes (sometimes). Temperatures (checked in bios) are 37-38 C. I did install malwarebytes but after PC crashes, the app disappears and requires another download.
Also, removed the GPU and tried to boot PC only to have it hang at MSI.
Tried installing the old ram but the issues persist. PC is virtually unusable. Very frustrated. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
