Flight sim 2004 - FRAME RATE LOCKS DOWN

Hello,

The game seems to lock down to 1-2 frames per second
especially when taking off or landing. I have spent
countless hours adjusting the display settings - until I
realised that it was doing it even on the lowest settings.

When I wind the settings right up, my computer seems to be
able to hold about 12 frames /second. On a mid range
performance setting it can produce 20-30 frames/second and
on the lowest settings it can run at 60 frames/second.

But ... as I said it just seems to lock down sometimes to
1-2 frames/second. Sometimes I can fix the issue by
resetting the flight, but more often than not I have to end
the flight and load it again.

Seems to do it for all aircraft under any circumstance.

My system is:

Win Xp
P4 1.6GHz
512mB ram
Geforce 4 Mx 440 [64 mb memory]
Direct x 9b

I own flight sim 2002 and it performs great, but I don't
think I have completed a single flight without 2004 locking
down.

I have not reloaded windows since I have purchased the game.

Any help woud be appreciatated,

Kind regards,
Terry

terry,

i can not take credit for these two suggestions.
they have been posted before. just passing information 🙂

1 : if you have a force feedback joystick, disable force feedback

2: adjust AI traffic to 0(zero) %

goodluck !

Vid card might not quite be what you want... The MX is a
crippled version of the GeForce... I would also reccomend
nothing less than 128MB's

I had the same issue (among other's with the 440 MX) and
all issues disappeared with my new ATI 9200.
