When I have full graphics turned on, I notice that the
game "skips" and is not smooth. I am running Windows XP
Professional. My system has 768MB of ram and has a
2.0Ghz processor. I have an Nvidia GeForce FX5200 (256MB
PCI) video card. I would think that this is
enough "horse power" to run the simulator without
performance problems. Does anyone have any ideas? Is
the processor just too slow, or are there settings on the
video card that I need to change. (Currently using the
defaults).

Thanks,

Bryan

Bryan, I'd suggest trying turning down some of the
graphics settings in Flt Sim. clouds are a big user of
memory.

The 2Ghz CPU is on the light if you want to use very high settings,
and the FX5200 very underpowered for FS2004, any older GF4Ti gives
better performance. You should try first to play with all settings,
particularly 3D clouds, until you find a compromise between
performance and your preferred display options...
