I just upgraded to XP sp2 on one of my computers. I also have XP sp2
on the other one.
I tried to open some files I have on 3 1/2s on the upgraded computer.
I got a message that the disks needed to be formatted. I said no to
the message.
This happened on four disks.
I then tried them on my other computer and they opened without any
problem.
What is the reason the upgraded one won't recognize the disks or open
them so I can use the files?
Thank you.

Floppy drive is dirty or bad? Got a blank floppy you can try to format
and write on the upgraded PC, then read on the other one?

You have diskettes that you can read on one computer running
Windows XP but not another computer running XP?

Can the computer that doesn't read these diskettes read any
diskettes at all? Can it write one and read it back? If not,
there's something wrong with the diskette drive.
