I've lived here for a year and for the whole time, the internet has been pretty crappy. Pages load slowly, the past couples months I'll often lose my Battle.net connection so I get kicked out of Diablo 3. Sometimes I can barely stream video. I'm on Charter cable, with a PC hardwired to a Belkin N450DB F9K1105 v2 router and my GF has her Macbook Air on Wifi. This router is only a few months old, I had a different one before and had the same problems.

Charter came today and checked our wiring and said it was fine.

Right now I've got a 10ms ping and 13 mbps download. Earlier I had a 19 ping and 25 mbps.

Last night I turned off "Intellistream" and I instantly got maxed out speeds, like 65 Mbps. Now it's back to being temperamental again. I'll run a speed test and get anywhere from 10-65 Mbps at any given time. It seems fine if I hook it straight to the modem. What can I do?

Solution
If speed is intermittent with a wired ethernet connection to the modem, contact your isp provider

If with wireless only, try to reposition the modem on a different location away from other appliances
