I recently purchased and installed NZXT Kraken x73. While it lower my temp to 10c-15c at least, I noticed that my CPU temp is kinda up and down. I never notice this using stock air cooler ( AMD Wraith). Its not hot.. but on idle, its on 35 then sudden spike to 42.. then slowly going down 41 40 39 38 36 35 then spike again to 40 then goes down again.

Is this normal in all AIO ? I have Ryzen 7 3700x slightly OC to 4.0 Mhz.

Hey there,

Yes, this is pretty normal behavior for a Ryzen CPU. Nothing to worry about. It happens with Intel chips too, but slightly differently due to the architecture.

Just a side note, why have you settled on a 4ghz OC (i'm presuming all core?). You are possibly better off just using PBO, and...

Thank You.. I thought my Kraken is not functioning well. Hehe

I'm new to overclocking.. I just set it on bios manually. I will take a look at this PBO thing.

Thanks again.

Stock ryzen does go up and downs this was confusing to me too. CPU goes up and down and so did fans trying to match. Made for a very noisy combination until I make many changes. 3700x is capable much more mhz. Not fan of PBO here. For me I like OC and undervolts but thats not for everybody I can understands.
