Fluctuating fan speed

My Asus GTX 770 has been acting up lately. For the first 3-4 years everything was fine, I had the ASUS GPU Tweak software controlling the fans. Randomly, the fan RPM began to jump up and down drastically. I've tried everything in that software, and eventually moved to MSI Afterburner. I set up a custom fan curve again, and still no dice. A while back when I started having this issue, I made sure to update everything. It did not help, so that isn't it. Here's a screenshot of my Afterburner logs:

Have you tried cleaning the fans with cans of air? Might be dust in there that may be preventing the fans to spin properly. Aside from replacing each fan on the unit, or replacing the unit itself, using cans of air would be the cheapest approach first. Good luck.

I believe the issue is software related, not hardware. When I set the speed to 'auto', it behaves normally and does not fluctuate. However, I do not want to leave it on auto because I would rather have my own curve.
