So I have heard somewhere that FM2+ will be backwards compatible to FM2 but is it true?

FM2+ shouldn't be compatible with FM2. They are different sockets, so CPU's will not fit.

Well msi has listed fm2 cpus as supported on their new fm2+ mobos.
