Hi. I'm using an AMD A10-5800k 4-core (2-core plus 2 hyper-threading). And I've figured out I should've just went with an FX series processor... So does anyone have a small hint of a 6 or 8 core maybe coming out soon? Please say yes... I like my motherboard....

Not on FM2+, you might see a 6 core APU on AM4 but that will be 1-2 years away with the new architecture and further die shrinks. With the current design it would be impossible to fit that many CPU modules and a GPU on the same die.

Athlon II X4 860K $75 Overclock these to 4.3ghz-4.6ghz and they do very well
A10-7700K
A10-7850K

Neither of the APU's offer much FPS over the Athlon at least not enough to justify the cost if you have a R9 card since the cheapest you will find a A10 is $105. You will get much better FPS out of a FX-6350,8320 and8350 with a R9 GPU over any chip on FM2+.

I'm hoping they will come out with one more round of FM2+ CPU's, we will see, if they do, it will be the last, and most powerful FM2+ you can get, but it really won't be a lot more powerful than the 860k.

FX 8350 ~ $145

ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 ~ $160
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 R4.0 and above ~$95
MSI 970 GAMING ~$91
Asus M5A97 R2 ~$79

The Mem will work with any it will just get Down clocked to whatever the Max each board will support, FX chips natively support 1866mhz which is what most stock boards will run them at.

Best priced combo IMO.
8320 will go way past 8350 stock speed with that mb/cooler combo.

The themis is available from newegg for $27.99 but not listed on part picker.

Your 2400 ram would likely be able to run at 1866 cas 8 or 2000 cas 9 .

Ok thank ya guys. Just one more question, will this setup be future-proof since most of the AM3+ mobos only have PCI-E 2.0 ports? I'm using an R9 270X GPU that is using 3.0 on my FM2 setup. Anyways, thanks!

Also how does the 8320 CPU dominate the 8350 when the 50 has about .2 more GHZ than the 20?

Also, is this a good mobo for the AM3+?

Its the same chip, just cheaper, overclock it past the 8350 and ....... taadaaa

Usually want to go with a 990 board for the 8 core cpus, they have better VRMs usually, seen some decent 970s, the Gigabyte one listed has a good reputation, and it wouldn't be to bad for what you want to do

The 970 ud3p has the best power delivery & voltage regulation out of any of the 970 boards (& most of the 990 ones)

What this means is you'll get a bigger over clock on less voltage generally.

Case in point that 8320 in my SIG needed 1.38v to run at 4.3ghz on the Asus ,on the gigabyte it sits at 1.332v stable & runs 7 or 8c cooler.
Always used to the use the m5a97 R2 for 8 core builds, was OOS one time so tried the gigabyte.
Its my goto board now - its better than the msi & Asus IMO.

Pcie2 vs pcie3 - makes no odds with current single cards - if you had a 290x or gtx 980 tri/quad setup you night notice a difference -
