hello geeks,
can you please tell me what motherboard for godavari cpu (FM2+ socket) can I use to connect PATA (only ATA HDD and DVD drive)? i want to change only motherboard, CPU and RAM. I dont want spend my money on anything else. can you advise me some solution to connect my old drives?

There are none. PATA is a dead technology. It was made irrelevant with SATA being a far superior interface.

There are very few that do have it but only these three have it:

I wouldn't even tough the ASRock with the nVidia chipset, those chipsets were crap.

Honestly you are missing out. A new SATA HDD is not that expensive and would blow your PATA HDD out of the water performance wise.

That is why I said these are the only boards that do support PATA. There are no FM2+ boards. The only Intel boards that do are the dead LGA775 socket.

PATA is dead.

Buy any motherboard you want, and use a PCI/PCIe IDE controller card.

The real advantage is for when you are ready, you may simply clone the PATA IDE drive to a SATA SSD or HDD.

That is an option but I will say that those are very hit and miss. I had customers try them all the time and it would not work most of the time.

They work great.

Most issues are driver/BIOS related or simply operator error.

By no means ideal, but I was thinking it might be a stop-gap measure until the OP could afford a new drive.

Delivery estimate: Nov. 3 to Dec. 9! You're not in a hurry, I take it. And remember the old adage. You get what you pay for. If it doesn't work, you'll be looking for another. And I doubt you'll want to pay for shipment to China to return it. If they are selling it for $1.88 w/free trans Atlantic shipping from China, it must be a doozie.
Was $6.99 from Amazon too much to pay?
