FM2 vs FM2+?

what is the difference between FM2 and FM2+? my mother board supports FM2 and FM2+ but im looking at a cooler but it only supports FM2+ im really confused please help

FM2 and FM2+ use the same cooler mountings - a cooler that works on one will work on both.

An FM2 CPU/APU will work in an FM2+ board, but not the other way round.

The only difference is that the FM2+ has a few more pins afaik - which as Someone Somewhere says, makes FM2 chips fit in FM2+ but no the other way around. The holes for cooler mounting are the same..

No, an FM2+ chip will NOT fit in an FM2 board. The FM2+ chip has a couple of pins without the corresponding socket, so it'll bump, and you'll break it if you push.
