I like to shoot thru a window, but focus is a real problem.

Solutions?

Or get closer to the window than the cameras' range of focus. It will have to search for a
focus outside the window.

Good idea. I didn't think of that.

Use the infinity focus symbol usually symbolized by a mountain image icon.

Clean the window.. get close.. and don't have lights or any other
bright light sources on your side of the glass.

Windex is a solution - of detergent and water. If the window is clean the
focus is less likely to cause problems.

Another solution is to use manual focus.

Unless you have a rare digicam that focuses with IR light, like film cameras, all you need
t do is get the camera close to the glass. When the camera can't focus on something
lcose, it will look out further for a focal distance.

This works on a plane, where you can't open the window.
