Question Folder back up software

A few years ago I purchased a WD MyBook external drive for backing up a few data folders. Unfortunately the back up software that was included is no longer supported and no longer works. After installing the replacement (Acronis) and watching it crash and not accept several photos, I uninstalled it.

I am looking for a rather simple back up application that will run each day and update my external hard drive. Honestly, I am not an expert in this area, so that I do not know if incremental, differential or other schemes are the way to go.

And I personally use Bvckup2 for a ton of things because it's lightweight and delta copies (checking and then only changing parts that have changed) well.

There are lots of options out there, such as Macrium Reflect (which is transitioning out of their free product). I'm just a fan of the lightest software needed to fill a task. Bvckup 2 has basically no feature creep and I use it to back up everything relevant on my main PC to my media server and my backup server every morning at 6 AM.

Oh, ok. I am sort of looking for something similar, but easy to configure so that it's set up and forget. Like I noted earlier, I really don't want to be an expert at this.....thanks

Most of the recommended software so far has a free version or at least one you can try. The best way to figure out what works for you is to experiment for yourself!
