After having a problem deleting volumes in hard drive partitions, I decided to just move folders from one partition to the other to save space. I then noticed that the Desktop folder on 'This PC' takes up 259gb. So I decided to move my Desktop folder's location to a new partition called "New Volume (M: )
After changing the location of my Desktop folder, all folders on my desktop disappeared while shortcuts, and text files remained untouched.
I then checked the drive's free space to see whether the folders on my Desktop got deleted or not. The drive's free space didn't change so technically no folder from my Desktop was deleted.
Now I want to know where all of the files were stored and how to bring them back.
