Yeah, i think you dont have to be Einstein to see Intel screwed up Big Time !

A64, runs cooler, runs faster, and is future ready(Windows XP 64bit) so you must realy be as stupid as a Pig`s Ass if you still prefer P4.

Prescott is having no heat problems. Intel is releasing new D1 core stepping revision for prescott and it runs cooler and faster. I think buying an A64 is foolish, since there is virtually no 64-bit extended software supporting it.

Xeon is correct. Totally, D0 stepping will make prescott run cooler and lower voltage too. Remember t-bred B? The same thing will be for D0 Prescott. It's gonna be super fast on air cooling.

I knew about the VID cap and knew that some boards like the Asus P4C800 Deluxe supporting it and how to defeat it for overclockers. Some boards are ignore and can hurt the processor. Older generations of processors on .13 micro had higher vcores so those older settings could become dangerous for the .09 micron without cooling to compensate. Comon a no brainer but AMD fanboys think this is something usefull to rag on? get real, Fanboys will grasp at anything like it will make a diff.

No news to me, just dipshits over at [F]OCP are fricken clueless and consider this news.

They did not tell you MSI is upholding the VIDC and they will be issuing a bios to work correctly as this rev prohibits voltage increase as a interum untill they can uphold the .2v max correctly.

MSI has and will be in the mix for overclockers. MSI makes a good board but is known for constant spikes. nothing serious, just the dips at high speeds will cause problems.

Almost all reviews missed the VIDC feature in the Prescott. You can flip the CPU and wrap the VID pins accordingly to defeat VIDC as well as mobo volt mods work too.

T-birds produce less heat than Prescott. The negetive side of T-bird is, it has no thrermal protection

I own 4 systems with palomino chips (1600+, 2X 1700+ and 1800+) The only one that was unstable was running ME, and when I changed os the problem went away. All are 2 years old, run at < 50c and are being well abused by young kids.

You take every chance you get to put a word in on how great Intel is over AMD. So don't start throwing fanboy tags, or you'll be slapping one on your own forehead.

Not this crap again. The only way a T-Bird will burn is if you run it without a HSF. I think he mentioned that it didn’t have thermal protection. Anyways I would rather have a chip without thermal protection that puts out 80w than one with that puts out 100w. You choose your battles.

Dichromatic for your viewing plesure...

Not sure what you mean, thread title has my name and linked to what the originator seems think is significant.

You respond like you own a AMD system or something and have very thin skin. Maybe Im worng but you seem to be sticking your neck out pretty far on this one for me to be wrong.

are you not always wrong?

Please show a post where you were right.

If I glanced at a spilt box of tooth picks on the floor, could I tell you how many are in the pile. Not a chance, But then again I don't have to buy my underware at Kmart.

I actually have 3 computers that i'm happy with.
Two intel, One AMD.
2.6c,2.8brdram and 2500@2.2ghz.
No problems with any of them whatsoever.

You're right though it does have your name on it and i don't blame you for being offensive since they did call you out. Kinda forgot the posts topic.

Hey Fugger, you should try overclocking one of the XP-M 2500+ chips. Since the Amd fanboys are getting them to 2700mhz on air, a real pro like you should be able to make one fly.

Being said by someone that posted and kept bumping a 'Athlon 64's dying by the dozens' thread about a somewhat comparable issue with extreme overclocking/overvolting A64's, I say you're a hypcrite. No surprises there though
