I am selling my Gainward GeforceFX 5900 1200 XP Golden Sample. This card is awesome. I'm selling because I need the money. The card has HUGE overclocking potential. The manufacturers warranty is even still valid up to an overclock of 440 MHz on the core and 900 MHz on the Ram. That is 10 MHz slower than the Ultra card and 50 MHz over the Ultra's memory speed. I can tell you though that this card will go all the way to 480 MHz and 980 MHz(no I didn't run at this speed. I used the autodetect feature to find this out). You could probably get the card over these values with really good cooling. I can assure you that nothing is wrong with this card. It runs great but like I said, unfortunately, I need the money. I am asking $325 for the card. I paid $400. If you are interested, email me at dpechace@fit.edu. I will only take personal checks or money orders(will have to wait for check to clear before I ship). I will pay for the shipping myself out of the $325. I will mail first class, insured, and get a tracking number. Comes with the original box, antistatic bag, manual, driver cd, and dvi to vga adapter.

After looking closer at current prices for this card, I'm lowering it to $300.

And just remember, this isn't the crappier 1100 XP card. This card is basically an Ultra chip and RAM but with only 128MB.

I wouldn't even buy that card if it were $200, maybe I would at $150, but no more than that.

Sorry to say, but to put it frankly, I don't think anyone here is going to go for this card. There are soem obvious flaws witht he FX chip, and that's been beaten to a dead horse here. I wish I could say someone would be interedsted in your offer, but I highly doubt anyone here at THGC will be. Sorry man. 🙁

Well the only flaw is that they obviously need to develop the drivers a little more than they have. Granted they also shot themselves in the foot by going past DX9 spec to 32bit shading precision instead of the DX9 spec of 24bit. So they either do it more accurately which takes more system resources or do it more efficiently but with slightly lower image quality. But let me ask you something. To you think anyone is going to notice the slight difference between a 16 bit and 24bit filtered image? Hell, I don't even notice a difference in image quality between a regular image and a AA 2x image. THG just looks at the tiny details to give the most indepth review they can. Noone stops to admire how accurately the floor is textured when playing a FPS. Only major issues like not producing shadows with certain drivers(like the bug with the Det. 45.23 driver). Don't say a card isn't worth anything just because you wouldn't personally buy it. If it was worth that little it would be selling for around that little. How would you like it if you were trying to sell your car and right before you closed the deal I walked up and said its a piece of [-peep-](which if its a Hyundai or Kia is true).

Hay, dont be pissed at him.
YOU bought that piece of ****.
He's just helping you, If you dont like it you shouldnt have

Don't get me wrong I would buy it if it were $100 - $150, really I would. I was just trying to tell you the truth about none of us wanting that card. I'm like 95% sure or better. Even some of THGC's most hardcore nVidia fans have admitted to the flaws of the FX 5900 chip. I was also telling the truth about you probably having better luck selling it on ebay (& trying to help you get it sold quicker by suggesting a place where there are more potential buyers with less technical knowledge lurking around there). sure, if you keep this thread going for a few weeks, some straggler might actually buy it. But unlikely though.
