Force single (permanent) mouse pointer in Windows 7 ?

Hi everybody!

I have a simple question: how does one force a single (permanent) mouse pointer in Windows 7 regardless of the application in focus? In other words, how do I prevent other applications like Adobe Reader from changing the standard windows "white arrow"?

I've googled this issue a lot and found zero solutions...

The changing of the mouse pointer from, for example, an arrow to a hand icon in Adobe Reader, is intentional so you know when the pointer has landed on a "clickable" item. There is no sensible reason I can think of why you would not want that feature.
