Hi, I'm sorry I'm posting this here but I'm desperate for an answers. In the picture it shows some kind of weird circular colours.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/405/1001176m.jpg/

There are "circles" on my screen showing different colour and it very noticeable and flickers.

I'd like to return my monitor or my gpu if that is the problem, but I need to know the technical term. Does anybody know?

Or does anybody know how to fix this?

According to the picture on the link, they look like sqaures! Not sure it's a hardware issue to be honest. I've had oddball stuff happen like that if the GPU driver is NFG. Although, not looking that consistant, more sporatic really.

That's minecraft, the actual problem is the barely visible concentric circles in the center of the screen. Looks like it could be an internal reflection due to cheap components.

AH! Ok, I thought that was the result of a bad camera shot, sorry. I focused on the squares, sorry. Never played, Minecraft, so I'm already at a disadvantage I guess.

I'd prefer real Lego!

On topic, it looks like a gradient like you'll get on many monitors, where it can't quite manage a constant gradient due to having "only" 32bit colour (4,294,967,296?)

If so, there's not a lot you can do about it!

hmm yea. Most cheap LCDs use 18 bit colour with only 6 bits in each of the RGB channels. If it's a cheap display (most TN panels) that could definitely be the issue. Only high end LCD displays such as IPS panels and huge CRTs use 24 bit colour depth. Only professional displays support 30 bit colour (10 bits per channel).

Theory was there then, even if the numbers were pulled from thin air! ;)

I've noticed this on my other games and sometimes browsing the web when there is a dark picture.
The circles also flicker

I was thinking of getting a new monitor for my gaming PC, when looking for a new monitor what should i look for to avoid this?

Also this is a pretty stupid question but how would I increase colour depth? Is it the 32-bit color? if so it's already at its highest.

Any idea? Can I message you for some help if possible? Been trying to get this fixed by asking on a lot of forums, haven't really gotten much replies besides this thread.
