Forgot my password please help win 8.1

i have HP ENVY laptop i normally log in with my fingerprint.
then i had some issue with norton i had to renew my subscription license after that someone told me to open my laptop in safe mode to renew it, now the laptop asking for the password i cant remember it and the fingerprint isn't working because the safe mode
please help

and windows has always had the ability to make a password reset disk

though not many people seem to realise this

once you remember your password make the reset disk for the next time you forget it
