Forgot my security no for the internet bought a new lap top but cannot get

Hello,
Have just bought an acer laptop with windows 8 installed, when i try to connect to my internet provider it keeps asking for a security key, have tried speaking to talk talk but no joy, i am not an expert on computing and dont want to try anything that im not sure about. can anyone help

you will have to contact your internet provider that the only one who could help you .

Is this a security key for the Internet connection or for your Router, if it's for the router the manual should tell you where to find it.

Are you connecting to broadband router by wireless ?

If you have wireless router from your ISP there is usually a label on it with this info
label may say wep or wap and a string of numbers or letters & numbers

If not you have to connect to router with network cable and re set key to something you know

I am assuming it is your family's Internet and not your neighbours
