To create a Windows 8.1 System Image, I want to select the target drive to be a Sony DVD -R unformatted. The drive does not show up to be selected. Reading on the internet, the DVD needs to be formatted as NTFS. When I right click the drive, the only format options are UDF. Using 'convert' to ntfs fails. Using disk partition no initializing wizard appears to change 'RAW'. What type of DVD must I purchase so I may proceed with System Image Recovery.

UDF works fine! (On a DVD+R)

Thank you, Beezy. Turns out that DVD +R works. Just need to ignore the error message (click x). The System Image tool was writing, then asked for another DVD. Stick in the DVD, right click to label, then let the system continue. Requires a lot of DVD's!!!
